Links

A ShortLink redirects automatically to the original long URL. It can be personal, shared within an organization, or attached to a project, and it is fully customizable.

From the dashboard, New link opens a form:

  • Destination URL — the long URL to shorten
  • Alias (optional) — a short custom identifier (for example summer-campaign-2026)
  • Title (optional) — to identify the link in your dashboard
  • Description (optional) — to remember the intended use
  • Expiration date (optional) — the link stops working after this date
  • Maximum clicks (optional) — the link disables itself once this threshold is reached
  • Password (optional) — protects access to the link

Without an alias, ShortLink generates a random identifier.

Activate or deactivate

Each link can be deactivated at any time. A deactivated link returns an error to the visitor without following the redirect. You can re-enable it later.

The dashboard lists all your links, with:

  • short URL and destination URL
  • title and description
  • creation date
  • total click count
  • status (active / disabled)
  • optional expiration date

From this list, you can edit the destination of an existing link, delete it, or copy the URL to share it.

Anonymous creation

A short link can be created without signing in. It then belongs to no user nor organization, and its statistics can be viewed publicly during the same session.

Best practices

  • Choose short but explicit aliases.
  • Attach a title and description to each link to find it later.
  • Avoid deleting a link that is already in circulation: deletion breaks the redirect. Disable it instead.
