ShortLink

ShortLink is the URL shortener of Abyss Tools. It turns a long URL into a short link that is easy to share in a message, a presentation or a printed support, and tracks how many people click on it.

Use cases​

  • Share a link in a slide or PDF
  • Track clicks on a campaign URL
  • Get a readable link instead of a long parameter string
  • Distribute a temporary or custom link

  • Short link generation from any URL
  • Customizable alias (for example summer-campaign-2026) or random identifier
  • Optional expiration date
  • Optional maximum click count
  • Optional password to protect access
  • Click statistics (total, unique, last visit, grouped by day/week/month)
  • Tracking of UTM parameters (source, medium, campaign, term, content), referer and language
  • Anonymous creation supported (no account)

Scope and ownership​

A short link can be:

  • Personal — visible and managed only by you
  • Attached to an organization
  • Attached to a project inside an organization
  • Anonymous — created without an account (public stats viewing)

Sharing and permissions​

Organization links use the centralized sharing system. From the Share menu, you grant access to a user, a team, the whole organization or via a public link, with a VIEW, EDIT or MANAGE level.

To create a short link inside an organization, your role must include the SHORT_LINK_CREATE permission.
