Retrospective

Retrospective is the tool of Abyss Tools dedicated to team retrospectives. It supports agile rituals with a free-form canvas where each participant drops cards to feed the discussion.

Use cases

  • End-of-sprint retrospective
  • Project or quarterly review
  • Team feedback workshop
  • Gathering opinions on an event

Main features

  • Free-form sections placed on a canvas (title, description, color, position)
  • Cards dropped by participants, positioned freely
  • Anonymous members by default, with an alias chosen at join time
  • Unmasking — a member can reveal their identity when they wish
  • Completed status to lock the retro once finished
  • Real-time collaborative editing
  • Public participation via a link (no account required)

Scope and ownership

A retrospective can be:

  • Personal — driven by its creator
  • Attached to an organization
  • Attached to a project inside an organization

Sharing and permissions

Retrospective relies on the centralized sharing system. From the Share menu, you grant access to a user, a team, the whole organization or via a public link, with a VIEW, EDIT or MANAGE level.

The public link lets an external participant join the retro and drop cards anonymously.

To create a retrospective inside an organization, your role must include the RETROSPECTIVE_CREATE permission.
