Columns
Columns shape your board and model the stages of your workflow. Each card lives in a single column at a time.
Create a column
Click Add a column at the end of the board. Give it a short, explicit name. You can create as many columns as you need.
Sample setups
- Simple kanban — To do — In progress — Done
- Development cycle — Backlog — Spec — Development — Review — QA — Released
- Support — New — In progress — Waiting on customer — Resolved
- Recruitment — Candidates — HR interview — Technical interview — Offer — Hired
Reorder
Drag a column header to move it. All the cards it contains follow.
Rename or delete
The contextual menu on each column lets you rename or delete it. Deleting a column also deletes the cards it contains: move them out first if you want to keep them.
Best practices
- Limit the number of columns to keep the board readable.
- Use short and consistent names.
- Reserve the last column for cards that are truly done rather than an archive zone — card archiving is the dedicated feature for that.
