Sharing content
Every Abyss item (board, draw, memo, cloud, form, Spotlight page…) has a Share menu that lets you broaden access beyond the initial scope.
Share targets
| Target | Audience | Use case |
|---|---|---|
| User | A specific person (by email) | Ask a colleague for feedback |
| Team | All members of a team | Push to the Design team |
| Organization | All organization members | Internal-public document |
| Project | All members with project access | Scope to a project |
| Public link | Anyone with the URL (no account) | External sharing |
Permission levels
For each share, you pick the access level:
- VIEW — read-only
- EDIT — can edit
- MANAGE — can edit AND reshare
How to share
- Open the item
- Click Share (top right)
- Pick the target (user / team / organization / project / link)
- Pick the level (VIEW / EDIT / MANAGE)
- Confirm
The share applies immediately. The target sees the item appear in their list if they have the matching service permission (e.g. DRAW_READ to see a draw).
Public links
A public link gives access to anyone with the URL, no authentication required. Useful for:
- sharing a draw with an external client
- exposing a Spotlight page
- opening a form to the public
You can revoke a public link at any time from the Share menu. The URL stops working immediately.
Effective permission
When several shares apply to the same user (e.g. a personal VIEW share + a team with EDIT), the effective permission is the max across all sources:
- Creator → always MANAGE
ORG_FULL_ACCESS+ admin view on → MANAGE on all org content- Project access (for project content) → permission of the ProjectAccess
- Individual shares (USER, TEAM, ORGANIZATION, LINK)
Remove a share
Share menu → access list → ⋯ → Remove. The user or team loses access immediately.
